 Irv Cantor presented "Interview Survival Guide." This was the first in a series of programs focusing on fine-tuning Job Seekers' interviewing skills.

Breakfast #13 - January 28, 2010 Trends in the 2010 Employment Marketplace
 Despite the heavy snowfall, Dr. Meryl Kanner, Supervisor of JVS Department of Career Counseling and Placement Services, and Eileen Weiss, JVS Career Counselor, of Jewish Vocational Service of Metrowest (JVS) spoke on "Trends in the 2010 Employment Marketplace." They also addressed numerous questions regarding JVS services, LinkedIn, crafting a successful cover letter and resume, and engaged the brave attendees with stories, examples and an exuberant positive attitude toward the challenge of seeking and securing employment.
Breakfast #12 - January 14, 2010 Networking and Me --  An overview of The Jewish Job Network was presented by Larry Rein. This well attended networking breakfast gave each participant an opportunity to discuss their present pursuits, past work and some experiences in job hunting. Stories of others, now employed were discussed as well. Opening oneself up to opportunities outside one's usual field engendered some interesting thoughts. A good give and take on networking and specifically using LinkedIn has lead to additional posts and discussions on the Jewish Job Network group. We are in this together, as that is what networking is all about.
JJN Breakfast #11 - December 31, 2009 Andrea Goldberg, LCSW
 Despite the heavily falling snow outside, Andrea Goldberg, LCSW, spoke at Congregation Etz Chayim on "What to do to relax while waiting for the interview to begin." She led those present through some hands-on practical demonstrations of breathing techniques and the use of positive imagery to be done while sitting in the recruiter's or prospective employer's office waiting for the interview, and discussed the results of those actions, both physical and mental. At the conclusion, all present were both more relaxed and alert; and the snow had stopped!
JJN Breakfast #10 - December 17, 2009
 At SSTC, the most recent addition to the nine West Orange/Livingston organizations that participate in JJN, Rabbi Simcha Feuerman, LCSW, spoke on “Coping with Stress during your Job Search." Rabbi Feuerman serves as an executive at Ohel Children's Home and Family services and lectures extensively on psychology, religion and advocacy for persons with disabilities. His presentation was both practical and enlightening.
JJN Breakfast #9 - December 3, 2009 How to Start Your Own Business
 A panel discussion moderated by Marc Goldberg and featuring Connie Lior, owner of CBL Fine Art, Fernand Schoppik, owner of FS Associates, Inc., Steven Loeb, corporate attorney, Mitchel Novick, patent attorney, and Gary Minkoff of Above and Beyond Marketing. This was a lively presentation where JJN Job Seekers learned from the panelists' experiences how they opened a store, developed a home-based business, created an internet business, and more as modern independent entrepreneurs.
JJN Breakfast #8 - November 19, 2009After the hiatus of the holidays, this JJN Breakfast was a true networking one. All those in attendance had the opportunity to present their 30-second elevator speech and communicate what is happening with their job search. A lively discussion ensued with experiences and tips being shared.
JJN Breakfast #7 - September 3, 2009 Rabbi Mordechai Becher
 Rabbi Mordechai Becher, renowned motivational speaker, spoke on "Dealing with Unemployment: Triumphs and Traumas How Judaism Deals with Life's Ups and Downs ". His extremely engaging style and interpersonal dynamics provided insight into coping with the ups and downs of life during this tumultuous period of job seeking.
JJN Breakfast #6 - August 20, 2009 Elevator Speeches
 Attendees took turns giving their elevator speech (30 second pitch) to the group. Critiques and tips were shared on how to improve them.
JJN Breakfast #5 - August 6, 2009 LinkedIn: One of the best networking tools
 Arne Salkin, an experienced speaker regarding LinkedIn, provided a hands-on tutorial on the best ways to leverage LinkedIn within a Job Seeker's job search efforts.
